Pre-Festival Lake County Field Trip
Meet field trip leaders in Duluth at the Miller Hill Mall Perkins Restaurant at 6:00am. 15 passenger vans will depart at 6:30am.  Field trip ends at the Miller Hill Mall Perkins Restaurant at 2:00 p.m.

Pre-Festival Duluth & Surrounding Area Field Trip
Meet field trip leaders in Duluth at the 40th Avenue West Perkins Restaurant at 6:30 a.m. Field trip ends in Duluth at the 40th Avenue West Perkins Restaurant at 2:00 p.m.

Registration begins at 3:00 p.m. at the Meadowlands Community Center (see map).

Great Gray Owl Dusk search Trip
Board the bus at Meadowlands Community Center at 4:00 p.m. Bus departs at 4:30 p.m. Return to the Community Center at 6:00 p.m.

Catered Dinner
6:00 p.m. at the Center.

Speaker Presentation
7:00 p.m. Steve Wilson “Spruce Grouse of Northern Minnesota”

Festival Registration
Begins at 5:30 a.m. and continues through the day at the Meadowlands Community Center.

Lake County Field Trip
Board the vans at 5:30 a.m. at the Meadowlands Community Center. Vans departs at 6:00 a.m. to Lake County and arrives at the Community Center at 4:00 p.m.

Duluth Field Trip
Board the bus at 6:00 a.m. at the Community Center at 4:00 p.m. Depart at 6:30 a.m. Pick up participants who are lodging in Duluth & Cloquet at the Perkins Restaurant at the Miller Hill Mall at 7:15 a.m. Return to Perkins at 3:00 p.m. and Community Center at 3:45 p.m.

Sax-Zim Bog Field Trip
Board the bus at 6:30 a.m. at the Community Center. Depart at 7:00 a.m. Return to the Community Center at 3:30 p.m.

Larry Weber’s Winter Nature Walk
Time 8:00a.m. – 11:00a.m.
Meet at the Meadowlands Community Center

This field trip you will follow Larry Weber around the Sax-Zim Bog as he shows you how critters of all kinds live and survive in north woods. Dress warm for this field trip as you will be outside walking outdoors learning animal tracks and also all the other life that exists in the north woods.

Larry Weber has recently retired from a 40-year career as a science teacher. He taught students from seventh grade up to graduate school. His awards include the Minnesota Secondary Science Teacher of the Year in 1993 and the National Biology Teacher Association’s Middle School Life Science Teacher of the Year for 1998.

Larry writes a weekly phenology column for a local newspaper, presents phenology updates for two radio stations and is a regular contributor to the Minnesota Conservation Volunteer. He lives with his wife on an old farm in Carlton County, Minnesota where he watches, photographs and writes about critters.

Catered Dinner: 6:00 p.m. at the Center.

Speaker Presentation: 7:00 p.m. Raptor Educators from the Raptor Education Group will be giving a presentation about their facility and the birds of prey they help rehabilitate.  Live raptors will be present during the presentation.
